IP to ISDN Gateway + Bridging Service

Option 1 –  Ad-hoc scheduled IP to ISDN Gateway Service
Call us and we will connect the IP and ISDN based videoconferencing system manually as needed to bridge these systems together with voice and video.   Please provide us with the IP address and ISDN number of the system(s) that you want us to connect together.  We will perform a free site test to each site to confirm connectivity so you can rest assured that we deliver what we promise.  In order to perform this free test you need to fill out our online registration form or fax or email us this form.

We can offer both dial-in and dial-out service.   We can also automate the process to allow you to connect seamlessly to each other without the need to scheduling it each time.  We have extensive knowledge and understanding of ISDN and dealing with equipment from a variety of manufacturers, understand the global dimension and have only one goal in mind – to deliver value and assure flawless audio and video delivery.

Pricing Formula:
Bridging Fee:  $48 / hour / site
+
IP Site Transport Fee:  $0  - free included in bridging fee
+
ISDN Site Long Distance Charges if we dial out:
Continental United States $32.40 / hour / 384kbps call speed
International Rates = International ISDN Long Distance Rate Sheet

OR ALTERNATIVELY:

ISDN Site dials into our bridge – onetime fee of $50 per conference

Example 1:
2 Hour call between an IP and ISDN Site – we dial out via ISDN to US Domestic site
2  sites x $48 x 2 hours = $192 + ISDN Long Distance @ 2 x $32.40 = $259.20

Example 2:
4 hour call between and IP and ISDN Site – ISDN site dials into our bridge from anywhere worldwide.
2 sites x $48 x 4 hours = $384 + $50 for ISDN Dial-In # = $434

Example 3:
90 minute call between 2 IP and 1 ISDN Site – we dial out via ISDN to US Domestic site.
3 sites x $48 x 1.5 + ISDN Long Distance @ 1.5 x $32.40 = $264.60

Calls scheduled and confirmed but cancelled within 24 hours of conference time as well as technical support exceeding 30 minutes incur an $85/hour technical fee to reimburse us for the time and effort involved in getting your call scheduled, tested and confirmed.

Option 2 –  Permanent ISDN Service delivered over IP - Direct Inward Dialing Number (DID)

Do you have an IP based videoconferencing system (Polycom, LifeSize, Sony, Tandberg, Aethra etc.) yet still need to dial ISDN videoconferencing sites or receive calls from them on a more regular basis?  Then this service is for you.

This service adds ad-hoc unscheduled and global ISDN dialing and receiving capabilities to your IP based videoconferencing system without the need to invest in ISDN hardware or get ISDN lines installed in your offices.  We call it our virtual ISDN service – all the features without the price tag and much more flexibility.

Here is how it works:
  • We assign you a permanent ISDN Direct Inward Bound Dialing # - that number will have the 678 area code and is dedicated to your videoconferencing system. You can give that number out to sites with an ISDN videoconferencing system.  ISDN sites call that number and get directly connected to you over IP – nothing changes for them – they simply call the number that you give them – so there is no learning curve for them.

  • This service is available 24/7/365 and allows your IP based videoconferencing unit to receive and make ISDN calls up to 384kbps = 6 ISDN channels or 3 ISDN BRI lines. We can also customize this service to offer 512kbps, 768kbps and even full ISDN PRI speed dialing capabilities (1472kpbs).

  • Not only can you forego installing dedicated ISDN lines – this service also allows you to disconnect your existing ISDN lines while providing your equipment mobility as it can now be rolled to different videoconferencing rooms within your building or even moved to another location as long as there is IP/Internet access for the VTC equipment.
  • Your IP based videoconferencing system does not need a static IP address – our service works with both dynamic and static IP addresses.

  • Technically speaking your videoconferencing traffic travels to our IP to ISDN Gateway which converts your IP audio, video and data back to ISDN and sends it over traditional ISDN lines to the other party and vice versa.   However, this is nothing you need to worry about – your IP based system makes/receives an IP call and the ISDN system makes / receives an ISDN call – so neither has to make any changes.

  • We have multiple IP to ISDN gateways with multiple ISDN PRI lines that are located in a Tier1 datacenter with redundant power supplies – operating 24x7x365 – this makes our service likely much more reliable than dedicated ISDN service from your phone company.
  • Your Videoconferencing unit needs to be registered to our gatekeeper which requires TCP Port 1719 to be opened allowing communication both inbound and outbound between our gatekeeper IP address and your VTC unit.  This tells our ISDN Gateway that your videoconferencing unit is up and running and that it can relay calls accordingly.   We take care of everything else.
  • Our service supports AES H.235 Encryption for added security to put your mind at ease.
PRICING:

  • There is a monthly fee of $125 for this service as well as an initial one time $150 signup fee which covers assistance with setup and testing and discourages one-time use.
  • Unlimited Incoming Calls – Receive calls from anywhere – anytime at no charge other than the fixed monthly fee above.
  • Outbound calls are subject to the ISDN long distance charges (i.e. $32.40 for a 384kbps ISDN call within the continental United States).  A complete global ISDN long distance price list can be found here - International ISDN Long Distance Rate Sheet
Please note that this is no different than if you had your own dedicated ISDN lines as outgoing calls over ISDN are long distance calls.  We simply pay the phone bill to AT&T rather than you…   We actually negotiated better rates with the ISDN long distance carriers since we buy thousands of minutes a month so that we are likely able to offer you better rates than you would be able to obtain yourself!

  • To sign up simply fill out up by filling out the Online Registration Form on this website or download the Offline Fax Registration Form.  Once we receive this form we will contact you to set up your service and assign you a dedicated ISDN number.    Not to worry – if we cannot make this service work for you – then there is no charge.    However, due to the large number of inquiries we have to limit ourselves to customers that are willing to fill out the signup form.
  • Don’t hesitate – the entire process can be completed in minutes and we can have your customer making and receiving ISDN calls from their IP videoconferencing unit today!

Call, Chat or email us with any of your questions – we are here to assist with all your videoconferencing and telepresence needs!
